Abstract
Research on the mechanisms by which interparental conflict affects self-conscious of children suggests that both parenting and children¡¯s conflict appraisals play important roles. The identification of interparental conflict patterns began with a factor analysis and the result was a three-factor solution indicating that the three-factor solution reflected an underlying pattern of interparental conflict. In this study, threat and self-blame were examined as mediators of the relation between interparental conflict and self-conscious. Regression analysis was performed to examine mediation effect and the extend to which interparental conflict predicted adolescent"s self-conscious, taking threat and self-blame as mediate variables. Findings indicate that both threat and self-blame play a role in understanding the impact of conflict properties on self-conscious of adolescent. Based on the findings of this study, implications for the adolescent and parents are provided.
